Wildlife Survival Sanctuary Visit

Posted on May 11, 2014 by Rob Spera

Mankind’s true moral test, its fundamental test (which lies deeply buried from view), consists of its attitude towards those who are at its
mercy: animals.~Milan Kundera (1929-) ,The Unbearable Lightness of Being

robleapord1I visited the Wildlife Survival Sanctuary yesterday in Spring Hill Florida. The sanctuary is amazing, run by people who have an extraordinary love for animals. They take in exotic animals and provide an excellent home for them to live out their lives in peace, grace, and dignity. I saw leopards, tigers, panthers, an ostrich, emus, lemurs, and a black pig. The place is a non-profit run by volunteers. I plan to start volunteering there soon.

ostrichThe ostrich must have been 10 feet tall, I could hardly believe, how big he was.

lemur4These are lemurs. They are primates, and native only in Madagascar. They have extremely long tails, the highest tail to body length ratio I ever saw.
