Cheetah in the Sky

Posted on September 14, 2014 by Rob Spera

Cheetah in the skyI see Cheetah’s spirit in the sky. Her face is in the center of the photograph looking directly at me. Cheetah always did have those sleepy eyes. Her body is sprawled out to to the left of her face. Cheetah of course, is the mother of Sunwapta. She also is the grandmother five times over of Paso Robles. When I look at Roble’s neck, I easily see the exact same striped markings running down the back of her neck that Sunwapta and Cheetah had. Those markings give me wonderful sense of connection to Cheetah and Sunwapta through Robles. Robles usually sits in the exact same spot on the sofa that Cheetah used to sit. Cheetah was the strongest cat I have ever held. Well, tried to hold, Cheetah was too strong to hold. She was pure muscle. Cheetah came to live with me when she was six years old and lived here until she she passed over to the other side when she was 17 years old. Cheetah was a grand magnificent cat.
