Finally settling into the condo in Frisco. After six months of planning and three years of dreaming, this mountainside condo will be my home for the next month. The complex is very quiet and peaceful, I am one of the few people here. Actually, I have not seen anyone else. The main street of town is a 15 minute walk from here. The bike path is 50 yards from here. Morning temperatures are in the low 40’s. The temperature quickly rises to 70 degrees by noon. The humidity is so low that I have already shocked myself touching a metal door handle. I am still adjusting to the 9000 ft altitude, just have to stop and rest a bit when my heart rate spikes. Life is good.
Rob, so swell to,hear about your tales of travel. Sounds like an ideal place to spend some time. Rob Swartley and I have been in that vicinity in a CO bike ride and are thinking of returning to,do the same sort of thing…”camp” for a month and ride, ride ride. Enjoy! And look forward to the updates.

Thanks Terri. I have spent over 200 days touring with Timberline, and the days I spent riding in this area are among my favorite. Since I was last here in 2007 (part of the Chasing the Great Divide Tour that I met you and Rob on),they have greatly expanded the number miles of paved bicycle paths, making this area ideal for stress free riding without worrying about cars. And at the end of many of the paved trails, are lightly traveled mountain passes, where the cars that are on the road are not moving fast and also mostly driving here for the scenery, not just trying to get somewhere else fast.
Very cool Rob! You picked a great place. Enjoy every moment out there.
Thanks Jim. I was going to try to cycle to Silverthorne, the place you told me about, but the Blue River is approaching flood stage and the bike path is right next to the river.
