These photos are from when Gary Z and I were cycling around the Frisco area. A couple from Florida actually took the first photo. I figured they were from Florida when I realized the man was wearing a Florida Gator shirt.

We chose the lunch spot in Breckenridge for the view. Ironically we ate at Bubba Gumps, yes there is a Bubba Gumps in Colorado. I don’t know how shrimp is delivered from the Gulf of Mexico to Colorado but I don’t think a shrimp boat is used. Probably one of the thousands of tractor trailer trucks I saw between Memphis and Colorado ferried the shrimp, hopefully in a refrigerated trailer. The restaurant looked recently built and I thought Bubbas was one of the nicer places in Breck. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was good. Gary and I found bicycling easier before beer consumption than afterwards, mostly because of my old foe, dehydration.

The nine mile ride back to Frisco from Breckenridge should be easier than the ride from Frisco to Breckenridge. Breckenridge is 600 feet higher in elevation than Frisco making the ride back to Frisco mostly downhill. The key word is mostly. With our bellies full from a scrumptious lunch and a couple of beers, there were several nasty little climbs on the way into Frisco that made our hearts race.

The ride in either direction is beautiful and peaceful. The photos show the path heading back into Frisco. There are many cyclists on the paths. After riding to Breckenridge and back to Frisco four times, I noticed I usually saw around 100 cyclists and 101 dogs walking with their human caregivers. The path to Breckenridge is only a few hundred feet from where I am staying making the ride ideal for two hours of exercise in the crisp Colorado air. Waiting to quaff the beer at the end of the ride is a lesson I learned the hard way.
