First Day’s Ride

Posted on August 17, 2014September 12, 2014 by Rob Spera

IMG_20140817_134702017Barely finished  the first  Day’s ride. The last 2.5 mile  climb  to 6000 feet I had to stop 4 times to get  my heart rate down below max heart rate due to the 6% grade. On Tuesday I will have to climb ten times that far to 11,000 feet with a similar grade. I do not have a good feeling about  that. I am actually paying to do this!

OMG, you can do this…just take your time and remember to breathe!

Believe me, I was breathing, very hard. Tuesday has 8000 ft of climbing, the most I have ever tried. I think the most I ever did was 6000 total feet.

Wow, that sounds hard! Just go slow and don’t overdo it. It’s not a race and it’s okay to know your limits. You are already a winner just for being out there!!

You are of course correct Janine. I do know my limits. I will do my best to get through the week.
